Aman Sehrawat of India secured the gold medal in the men’s 57kg category at the Zagreb Open on Wednesday by defeating China’s Zou Wanhao. The U23 world champion achieved a convincing 11-0 victory over the third-seeded Chinese competitor. Sehrawat earned his spot in the finals by consistently overpowering his opponents through technical superiority. He began with a dominant 15-4 win against Turkey’s Muhammet Karavus, followed by an 11-0 victory over Zane Richards of the USA. In the semifinal, he triumphed over Georgia’s Roberti Dingashvili with another 11-0 scoreline. It’s worth noting that Indian wrestlers participated in the tournament as neutral athletes due to the suspension of the Wrestling Federation of India by the United World Wrestling.
