The entire country is rejoicing in the colours of Yoga on the eve of the International Yoga Day, or simply Yoga day. The 21st of June was officially declared as the yoga day by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India some 3,500 years ago. The 21st of June was specifically chosen since it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, thus, sharing a special significance in many parts around the world.
Yoga has a special importance in the world of sports. It assists the muscles, ligaments, and tendons to move have a full range of motion, thus developing balance and core strength, thus proving to be of big benefit to athletes.
