Team India is gearing up for an upcoming tour to the Caribbean islands & will face West Indies, featuring matches in all three formats including two Test matches, three ODIs, and a five-match T20I series. The action is set to kick off on July 12 in Dominica, with the Test matches being the first on the schedule. While BCCI is yet to announce the squad for the upcoming matches, a report from Cricbuzz suggests that Yashasvi Jaiswal is poised to earn his maiden Test call-up for the Indian team.

Following an appearance in the final of the ICC World Test Championship 2023 against Australia, the Indian men’s cricket team is currently taking a one-month break. In the recent summit clash held at the Oval in London, led by Rohit Sharma, the Indian team experienced a crushing defeat by 209 runs. This outcome marked a disheartening conclusion to India’s journey in the 2021-23 WTC cycle.

Despite not being part of the original 15-member squad for the WTC 2023 final in England, Yashasvi made the trip as one of the three standby players. However, for the upcoming West Indies tour, the cricketer from Mumbai is expected to be included in the Test squad. Yashasvi will likely replace Cheteshwar Pujara and assume the batting position at No. 3.

After being absent from the home series against Sri Lanka, New Zealand, and Australia earlier this year, Sanju Samson is now geared up for a comeback in the ODI and T20I squads.
