India’s first spot at the competition went to Praveen, who had previously taken home a silver at the Paralympics in Tokyo.

The top four finishers in each of the individual medal events at the 2023 World Para Athletics Championships advance to the 2024 Paralympic Games, which will again be hosted in Paris.

The T47 classification is primarily for athletes who have impairments or below-elbow or wrist amputations. Moreover, the T64 classification is for participants whose leg length discrepancy and limb deficit impact the lower limb or limbs competing with prostheses.
