The schedule for the 2023 World Cup (WC) to take place later this year is poised to change due to the objection of “two-three ICC Full Member nations”. According to the BCCI secretary, Jay Shah, there is a problem with the space between certain teams’ games, and “only the date and time will be changed.”
Jay Shah Stated,
“Two-three ICC Full Member nations have raised objections regarding the schedule. The teams which have six-day gaps will be reduced and the teams which have two-day gaps will be increased.”
Shah stated that the BCCI and ICC logistics teams have addressed the issues and there would be no alteration in venue.
“The logistics team of both BCCI and ICC is working on it. No venue will be changed, only date and time will be changed.”
The BCCI secretary dismissed any security or worker problems in Ahmedabad for the prestigious India-Pakistan cricket match, saying a new schedule will be released soon.
Jay Shah further stated,
“There is no issue related to security or work force in Ahmedabad. Had that been the case, match wouldn’t have been allotted there in the first place.”
