Indian boxer Nishant Dev advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the World Boxing Championships by defeating 2021 World Championships bronze medallist Sarkhan Aliyev of Azerbaijan with a flawless 5-0 victory on Wednesday. Nishant’s strength and technique, along with his strategy of attacking from a distance and landing a swift combination of punches, proved too much for Aliyev. By anticipating his opponent’s attacks and defending firmly, Nishant didn’t allow Aliyev to execute any successful attacks.
