It consists of a series of shuttle runs or sprints between two markers placed 20 meters apart. The test is divided into levels (e.g., Level 1, Level 2), with each level becoming progressively more challenging.

As the test advances, participants are required to align their running pace with a sequence of auditory beeps. This entails running faster as the intervals between beeps gradually shorten.
