How Cricket Bats are Made? - Step by Step Guide
1. Cutting or Machining Process
The Process Involves cutting or machining the willow & then giving a approximate shape which is known as clefts
2. Pressing Process
The pressing process compresses the fibers, shaping the bat into a solid and compact willow.
3. Fitting the Handle
After pressing, the blade is sliced at the top to make room for attaching the handle, which is then fixed in place with adhesives.
4. Shaping the Bat
A draw knife shapes the cricket bat, making specific adjustments like rounding the toe and removing unnecessary parts.
5. Finishing Operations
After sanding edges & face for a smoother finish, the cricket bat is polished with a beeswax compound. Rubber grip is added to handle for better hold & enhanced comfort.
