Neeraj Chopra secured his spot in the Paris Olympics 2024 by leading Group A qualifiers with the best throw of 88.77 meters in World Athletics Championships held in Budapest on Friday. Rebounding from a month-long period of injury recovery, Chopra’s achievement fell short of his best efforts. Nonetheless, he showcased his dominance in the esteemed single-day competition. The 25-year-old Chopra, who had missed out on three prominent events due to a muscle strain suffered in June, had already secured a win in the Diamond League opener in Doha on May 5 with an exceptional throw of 88.67 meters, marking his fourth career-best performance.

The Indian superstar, who has a personal best of 89.94 meters, had cemented his top spot in the Diamond League standings with 16 points. (Video Credit- Zee News Youtube Channel).
