Indian Cricketer Deepak Hooda abused the umpire after getting frustrated on the fifth delivery of the 18th over when he left Kasun Rajitha’s delivery in hopes of getting wide. Deepak had hoped for a wide but the on-field umpire KN Ananthapadmanabhan decided otherwise, he did not call it a wide as the batter had moved across his stumps. Hooda was furious by the decision and uttered “behen ke l****”.
The T20I series opener of India against Sri Lanka at the Wankhede stadium turned out to be a rollercoaster affair for the fans. Team India was in a delicate position after losing their skipper Hardik Pandya in the 15th over of the match.
The Men in Blue had registered 94/5. Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel had taken over the game. Their smashing abilities came to the fore in a trailblazing stand. However, Hooda was frustrated on the fifth delivery of the 18th over after the umpire decided against Hooda’s expectations.
The 27-year-old went on to smash runs and registered 41 runs in 23 deliveries. Meanwhile, his partner, Axar Patel remained unbeaten on 31 runs of 20 deliveries, dragging Team India to 162/5. Team India won the opening match by 2 runs, registering a great start for the series.
