The sixth-seeded Indo-Australian team, which had previously reached the Wimbledon Championships’ semifinals this year, outplayed the French pair with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 victory in the semifinals of US Open.

Achieving this remarkable milestone, the 43-year-old Indian tennis player- Rohan Bopanna also earned the distinction of being the oldest competitor to reach a Grand Slam final in the Open era. Bopanna surpassed the previous record held by Canada’s Daniel Nestor, who was 43 years and 4 months old when he participated in a Major final, exceeding Nestor’s age by two months. Notably, Bopanna’s maiden Major final appearance occurred at the US Open in 2010, when he partnered with Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi from Pakistan.
