With two playoffs appearances in their first two seasons, UP Yoddha will now be aiming for their first final appearance in PKL 7. The Yoddhas have retained last season’s best defender and the 100-point man, Nitesh Kumar. UP has also spent quite a money to rebuild their attack, buying Monu Goyat, Shrikant Jadhav and Rishank Devadiga for ₹93 lakh, ₹68 lakh, and ₹61 lakh respectively. Jasveer Singh will be the team’s head coach for the second consecutive season after taking the team to qualifier 2 in the last season, just a step away from the final. But their overreliance on Nitesh Kumar has hurt UP so far in the seventh season, as they suffered two heavy defeats to start the league. Bengal Warriors crushed UP 48-17 and Gujarat defeated them 44-19. Can the UP Yoddha team 2019 turn things around to qualify for playoffs for the third consecutive time?
