This decision aligns with the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, acknowledging Shami’s remarkable performance in the ongoing ICC Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup. Amroha district magistrate Rajesh Tyagi announced this development on Friday. DM Rajesh Tyagi said while speaking to ANI.

“A proposal has been made to construct a mini-stadium and open gym in the village (Sahaspur Alinagar) of Mohammed Shami,”

The objective is to establish a mini-stadium and an open gym in Sahaspur Alinagar, the hometown of India’s prominent fast bowler. In a display of support, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) party leader Jayant Singh has advocated for allocating funds to aid the construction of a sports facility in Shami’s village.
