Hima Das clinched her second international gold in the women’s 200m race, finishing first at the Kutno Athletics Meet in Poland on Sunday. Having just made a return from an injury, India’s star sprinter is already setting the international tracks on fire!
Hima, who has been suffering a niggling back problem over the past few months, registered a time of 23.97 seconds to bag the gold. Her compatriot VK Vismaya won the silver with a timing of 24.06s.
Muhammed Anas, National record holding athlete, also clinched the gold in the men’s 200m event with a timing of 21.18 seconds.
This was Hima Das’ second international 200m race victory of the season. However, she was still a few milliseconds short of the personal best of 23.10s, which the 19-year-old managed last year.

Hima’s first competitive 200m race this year came recently, when the Assamese runner clocked 23.65s on to win the gold at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix, Poland, on Tuesday. However, in that rae, Vismaya had ended at the third spot albeit with a personal best of 23.75s. Hima Das is the reigning world junior champion as well as the national record holder in the 400m event.
