Young Cricketer Umran Malik broke Jasprit Bumrah’s record by bowling a 155 kph thunderbolt and dismissing Sri Lankan Shanaka in the first T20I against Sri Lanka. Umran’s thunderbolt was also the fastest ball of the match. Netizens flooded social media to praise young Umran.

The Jammu Express’s astounding bowling in the 1st T20I against Sri Lanka saw him displace Bumrah for the ‘fastest delivery bowled by an Indian pacer at home’.
Bumrah’s highest speed so far stands at 153.36 kph and is followed by Mohammed Shami (153.3 kph) and Navdeep Saini (152.85 kph).

Moreover, Jasprit Bumrah last played for India in September 2022. He also missed the T20 World Cup in Australia due to a back injury. According to the BCCI, Bumrah will join the ODI squad for the upcoming 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
The BCCI statement said,
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included pacer Jasprit Bumrah in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming Mastercard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. The pacer has undergone rehabilitation and has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He will be joining the Team India ODI squad soon.”
