England got a little bit of “help” from a person with one of the most illustrious surnames in the history of World cricket – Tendulkar – ahead of their crunch World Cup clash against Australia. And it was not the batting legend himself, but his very own son Arjun who did it, not with the bat, but the ball.
The Junior Tendulkar helped the English batsmen in the nets before their big-ticket tie against arch-rivals Australia.
The son of the batting legend Sachin Tendulkar was one of the main persons present at the Lord’s nets during England’s practice session. Main, because it expectedly drew the attention of everyone present at the cricket’s mecca.
In an orange t-shirt, Arjun was captured bowling to the English batsmen with the team’s spin bowling consultant Saqlain Mushtaq, watching in awe.
Arjun’s Tryst with England
However, this is not the first time that Tendulkar has bowled for England in the nets. He first got the chance in 2015, when the then 15-year-old took part in the English National team’s net practice. Interestingly, England was preparing to play against Australia as well, for the second Ashes Test.
Moreover, Arjun, now 19, has also played for MCC Young Cricketers. In his match against Surrey Second XI last week, the bowling prodigy picked up 2 wickets in High Wycombe.
While bowling from over the wicket, he produced an excellent delivery to fox opener Nathan Tilley in the second over.
After breaking Tilley’s timber, Arjun then went on to dismiss lower-order batsman BBA Geddes, returning with figures of 11-2-50-2.
? Arjun Tendulkar, take a bow!
He took this stunning wicket this morning for @MCCYC4L.
