The IPL 2024 auction was completely thunderous, as marquee players like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Daryl Mitchell pocketed huge amounts of money. On the other hand, we were introduced to some young Indian players who became the main story of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in 2024.
There are high chances these players can take the world by storm, if they will get a chance to feature in the starting eleven. In that context, we have compiled the top five young Indian players who can steal the show with their dominance in the upcoming season.
Top 5 Young Indian Players Set to Dominate IPL 2024
|Chennai Super Kings
|Kolkata Knight Riders
|Lucknow Super Giants
Sameer Rizvi (CSK)
Sameer Rizvi is the first player on our list who can steal the IPL 2024 with his brilliant game play. This youngster impressed everyone in the UP T20 league. A bidding war was expected on the young batter in the IPL 2024 Mini Auction, but nobody was expecting the bid of 8.40 crores by CSK to sign the player.
His t20 career is pretty young, as he has played just 11 matches, but his average is touching 50 and his strike rate is 134.70 while scoring 265 runs. Considering his very young age, these stats are very impressive, but he will learn a lot of things in the CSK camp.
CSK bid very hard with multiple teams on the auction table and eventually won the battle to add Sameer Rizvi to their squad for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. Talking about his role, he is a right-handed batter who plays in the middle order. In the UP T20 league, he played at number three for the Kanpur Superstars and performed really well; he was also the skipper of the side.
CSK will be looking to fill the vacant space of their middle-order batter, Ambati Rayudu, with the addition of this young dynamic right-hander. Now it will be interesting to see how many chances he gets in the competition and how he performs, but one thing is confirmed, if MS Dhoni has picked any young player, then he must have something special.
Ashutosh Sharma (PBKS)
Ashutosh Sharma is the second player on our list who can set the IPL 2024 on fire with his staggering performances. Punjab King bagged the young rookie at his base price of 20 lacs, which makes him such a steal buy for Punjab-based franchise. Punjab Kings added him as a replacement for Shahrukh Khan to play the role of finisher because the young batter has impressed with his hitting abilities.
Talking about his role, he is a middle-order batter who has a speedy strike rate of 197.64 in the 15 matches he has played in his T20 career so far. He has also scored 419 runs at an average of 29.92, which is pretty impressive for a hitter who plays in the middle order. The chances are very bright for him to get regular chances in the playing 11 because of his versatility and his power hitting.
Another reason that will incline the team toward his selection is the lack of Indian middle-order batters. He can also feature as an impact player.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi (KKR)
The third youngster who might play for his team in the IPL 2024 is Angkrish Raghuvanshi from KKR. The franchise went into the auction room under Gautam Gambhir, and very much like MSD, when the former KKR skipper picks any youngster, he must have the potential to do great things at any level of the game. KKR signed him at 20L, even though his career is pretty young, but he has displayed great potential in his small career.
He has played only 7 matches and scored 138 runs while averaging 23 with a strike rate of 115.96, that means he has a lot of areas to improve, but reports are claiming the trust of KKR’s management in this young gun. The chances are very low to get a chance in the playing eleven, but the batter has all the potential to grab the chances he gets in the IPL 2024.
Arshin Kulkarni (LSG)
The fourth player who has the ability to dominate the IPL 2024 is young all-rounder Arshin Kulkarni from the Lucknow Super Giants. He was added to the LSG’s squad at just 20 Lacs, which was his base price, but a heated bidding war was expected on this emerging player because of his all-round abilities. His stats are also pretty decent in the six matches he has played in his entire T20 career.
He has accumulated 121 runs at an average of 24.20 with a skyrocketing strike rate of 163.51 and also picked up 4 wickets, but he is only 19 years old, so he will be improving with time. The fast-bowling all-rounder is also considered the big thing in Indian cricket as the replacement of Hardik Pandya, even though Indian management and BCCI have eyes on this young player. If he gets the chance, he might start his IPL career with a bang.
Robin Minz (GT)
The last player on our list is Robin Minz from the IPL Team Gujarat Titans. Robin is a wicketkeeper-batter who was bought by the Gujarat Titans for 3.60 crores in the mini-auction. He is a left-handed batter who is a very nice gloveman and also very destructive. He is also called Kieron Pollard of Indian cricket because he has the power in his hands to hit long sixes with ease.
So having an Indian dynamic left-hander who is very destructive is a luxury for any IPL team. He has almost everything to perform in the IPL 2024. He hasn’t played any competitive cricket yet, but he impressed everybody with his hitting ability on every trail he gave, and that’s the only reason he got 3.60 CR in the mini auction.
