Veteran Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh did the inevitable by announcing his retirement from the international cricket. Yuvi, as he is popularly known as, has achieved many feats in his 25-year illustrious career. He played a pivotal role in India’s T20 World Cup Triumph in 2007 followed by the country’s first ICC World Cup win in over 28 years in 2011. In fact, he was the Man of the Tournament in the latter. The Punjab cricketer’s career was marred by a serious form of cancer. Although he did make a fighting return to the international cricket a few years later, Singh couldn’t generate the kind of form that once terrorized the bowlers.
Although the announcement was expected for quite a while (Yuvraj last played for India in 2017), it nonetheless left everyone emotional. Here is how Twitterati paid tribute to one of India’s best all-rounders of all time – Yuvraj Singh:
Thanx Yuvi for 2002 natwest , those catches against South Africa , 2007 wc , 2011 wc and for all the sixes . You genuinely made us happy and proud .
I remember breaking the TV room windows at my hostel when you hit six 6's.

#YuviDeservesProperFarewell and should get it.
Though he is not in Current Indian Team but he deserved a lot to retire with much more respect.
Don't do it again like we did for Rahul Dravid.— Chetan Joshi (@joshichetan08) June 11, 2019
One of the deadliest batsman of all-time, every bowler, especially spinners feared Yuvraj Singh in his prime. He had his moments, and who can ever forget the 6 sixes to Stuart Broad. Also, the 2011 World Cup campaign! All we can say is, #ThankYouYuvi. #YuvrajRetires pic.twitter.com/RZwTbtk4BN
