The Official Logo and Mascot of Khelo India Para Games 2023 Revealed

Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, alongside numerous esteemed athletes and para-athletes, unveiled the inaugural logo and mascot, ‘Ujjwala,’ for the Khelo India Para Games 2023.

‘Ujjwala,’ represented by a sparrow, embodies the official spirit of the games. This little bird symbolizes the pride and distinctiveness of Delhi while embodying traits of determination and empathy.

In attendance were notable personalities including former Indian Women’s Hockey Team Captain Rani Rampal, Yogeshwar Dutt, an Olympic bronze medal-winning freestyle wrestler, professional wrestler Sarita Mor, and Indian professional boxer Akhil Kumar.

The special occasion was further enriched by the presence of renowned para-athletes such as Pramod Bhagat, Bhavina Patel, Avani Lekhara, and Sumit Antil.

Speaking about Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s vision of fostering an all-encompassing sports ecosystem, Anurag Thakur expressed,

 “On the occasion of the launch of the inaugural edition of the first-ever Khelo India Para Games, I would like to congratulate everyone. It is because of our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision, that Khelo India has become a household name. It has become a movement from a scheme and Khelo India was missing the Para Games for the last few years. From 2018 till date, we have had 11 Khelo India Games, we are delighted to add Para Games this year.”
