Suryakumar Yadav Breaks Multiple records in a Calendar Year

Suryakumar Yadav made numerous batting records with his tremendous batting display against South Africa in the first T20I of the three-match series. He became the highest run-scorer for India in a calendar year in T20Is on Wednesday. Yadav also breaks Mohammad Rizwan’s world record of most sixes in any calendar year in T20Is.
Suryakumar Yadav continued his incredible knock in T20Is in 2022 and scored more than 700 runs at a strike rate of more than 180 and an average of more than 40 this year. Yadav also broke Shikhar Dhawan’s 689 runs clinched in 2018.

The comfortable victory by the Indian team against South Africa in the 1st T20I was made possible by Indian bowlers- Deepak Chahar and Arshdeep Singh, who restricted the Proteas to 106 in 20 overs. Chasing a target of 107, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav scored unbeaten fifties and helped India beat South Africa by eight wickets in the first T20I. Virat Kohli was dismissed early by scoring 3 runs off 9 balls only.
