The international badminton champions
The Indian nation was bestowed with laurels and medals as the Indian badminton achievers glorified the name of the country in the Uganda Para badminton International.
On Sunday, Sukant Kadam clinched a gold at the event after two years while Pramod Bhagat won three silver medals.
Nilesh Balu Gaikwad was defeated in the men’s singles summit clash in the SL4 category by none other than the World No. 5 Champion, Sukant Kadam at 21-16, 17-21, 21-10 in not more than 38 minutes.

After the match, Kadam tweeted, “It was a good match. It feels good to break the jinx and win a gold medal after two years. This will motivate me to work harder.”
However, it was really unfortunate for world’s no. one champion and Tokyo Paralympic Gold medallist, Bhagat to lose in all his three finals. He had a tough time and was defeated by his doubles partner Manoj Sarkar in Men’s singles SL3 finals.
In the men’s doubles, Bhagat and Sarkar lost to the Indian competitors Mohammad Arwaz Ansari and Girishchandra Joshi. The scores were 21-10, 20-22, 15-21.
Even though it was a tough competition between the compatriots, Kadam made the nation proud with his achievement.
