The first match ignited the tension with an intense battle between Malaysia’s Sai Hung and India’s Abhay Singh. In the nail-biting clash, Hung emerged victorious in a 3-2 scoreline, securing the crucial win in a thrilling 6-6 decider.
Meanwhile, Aira Azman of Malaysia defeated Joshna Chinappa 3-1, extending Malaysia’s lead to 2-0. Despite the presence of India’s seasoned player Saurav Ghosal, an injury sustained in the previous game against Japan hindered his performance. Ghosal succumbed to the relentless skills of Malaysia’s player Pragasam in the final game.
Egypt secured their spot in the semifinals by delivering a dominant 4-0 triumph over Japan. Malaysia and Egypt will now face each other in the final match scheduled for Saturday at 6 PM.
