Unlike 2018, which saw the FIFA World Cup, Asiad and CWG, 2019 will be relatively low key in terms of big events. Though we still have The Cricket World Cup, that will see adrenaline high for a non-stop 45 days.


Cricket Sports Calendar India 2019

After a pulsating Test series and T20 series between India and Australia, the ODIs promise to be exciting and intense too as the two teams will clash in a three-match rubber.

New Zealand will be closest to England in terms of conditions, which will help Virat Kohli and co. to firm up their combinations for the World Cup. It is scheduled to take place from January 23 to Feb 10, 2019.

Another chance for both teams, India and Australia, to give their players ODI exposure for the World Cup. Match dates are as follows: Feb 24 to March 13.

Cricket will be keeping world’s top talent busy with the Indian Premier League, tentatively scheduled in the second half of March and April. The date, schedule and venues will be finalised only after the Election Commission of India confirms the dates and schedules for the general elections.

Two-time champions India will start as hot favourites for the quadrennial extravaganza, the Cricket World Cup which will be played sans any groups and in a round-robin format, just like the 1992 World Cup. The scheduled dates are May 30 to July 14, 2019.


Football Sports Calendar India 2019

The football calendar, which witnessed the all-important FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia last year, has some major outings for Sunil Chhetri and his India team with the AFC Cup taking place from the coming Saturday, January 5.


Some kicking action will also be seen as India will strongly represent in the Women’s World Cup Football from June 7 – July 7, 2019.

For the wrestling fans, the Senior National Asian Championship will take place from April 23 to 28 in Xian, China. Badminton world’s biggest professional league – Premier Badminton League – is on as the sports fraternity entered 2019. The year ahead has a lot of excitement in store, with India’s biggest event on the BWF calendar – India Open – scheduled in Delhi between March 26 and 31.


Athletics Calendar 2019


The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) organizes the World Championships in Athletics. It was initially planned to be held every four years, but after the third event, it was changed to be every two years.
