Six Indian Archers confirmed their ticket to 2024 Paris Paralympics

Six slots for the Paris Paralympics 2024 have been granted to Indian archers as a result of their superb showing in the 2023 World Para Archery Championship. At the Para World Archery Championships in Pilsen, Czech Republic, India showcased an exceptional performance.

The competition resulted in three medals for India as well as six Olympic qualification positions for Indian archers.

Sheetal Devi, 16, created a milestone by being the sole armless female archer to compete in a global final. She won silver in the compound women’s open event, giving India its lone individual medal at the World Archery Para Championship.

Rakesh Kumar and Sarita, compound archers, won the Compound Open Mixed Doubles competition and earned a remarkable gold medal.

Together, they won the World Para Archery Championship‘s very first gold medal for India by defeating the Brazilian team of Jane Gogel and Reinaldo Ferreira 152-146 in the finals.

Sarita continued to achieve success. She competed in the Compound Women’s Doubles event alongside Jyoti and took home bronze.
