CWG gold medalist PV Sindhu and World No. 8 HS Prannoy would lead the Indian contingent for the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships which will take place in Dubai from February 14-19, 2023.
The Badminton Association of India once again picked up the star badminton players directly and even conducting trials for the rest of the squad to pick the best team that will perform its class in the prestigious continental tournament.
Due to the Covid pandemic, the last edition of the event in 2021 had canceled and now the Indian contingent would be eager to show how far they have come since the year 2019.
Badminton Association of India secretary Sanjay Mishra said
“We have picked a very strong team that is capable of beating any top nation on their day. Our men’s team showed during the Thomas Cup last year what happens when they find their rhythm and I am confident that this team can also finish on the podium,”
All England semi-finalists Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand will be the main women’s doubles pair in this competition.
