Three Shreyas Iyer Records Created on Thursday
Shreyas Iyer’s monstorous 147* shattered many records on its way. The first one was of course the highest ever T20 score by an Indian player- held by Pant who scored 128 runs.
Moreover, the 24-year-old batter also smashed 15 sixes en route to the cracking ton. Coincidentally, the record of hitting most number of sixes by an Indian in T20 format is also held by Pant. The latter had earlier hit 12 sixes when he played for Delhi against Himachal Pradesh in 2018.
Last but not the least, Iyer, along with Suryakumar Yadav, stitched a massive 213-run partnership to take Mumbai from 22-2 to 235-3.
The record stand was the highest ever in the Indian cricket history and third highest in the world in the third-wicket position in a T20 game.
This is not the first time that Iyer has played a hard-hitting knock. Here is a quick throwback of his fastfire knock against KKR in IPL.
