Dhawan landed awkwardly on his left shoulder in a diving attempt to save Aaron Finch’s drive in the 5th over. Soon after, he left the field clutching his shoulder, failing to make it to the second innings. Instead, he was rushed to a hospital for X-rays during the match.
According to reports, Dhawan has damaged his AC joint, a joint between the shoulder blade and collar bone. He was later seen in the dressing room with his arm in a sling as India clinched the series 2-1.
Prithvi Shaw has worn the Indian Cap, just twice, in the test series against West Indies, 2018. 2019 was not the best of his years; first- due to injuries, followed by a doping ban. However, Shaw made his case with a 150 in India A’s warm-up game, followed by a 35 ball-48 in the first ODI of India A tour of NZ.
Sanju Samson has been patiently waiting for his turn to open for India. Samson played a T20I game against Sri Lanka. However, he didn’t last long, as he was dismissed on the second ball after hitting a six on the first. Samson’s inclusion will also put pressure on Rishabh Pant to perform better,
