At the age of 15 Riya Saboo has achieved so much in the sport of roller skating that every Indian should be proud of her.

National gold medalist in skating Riya Saboo hopes to win an international medal in the upcoming Asian Roller Skating Championship which is scheduled to be held in September.
Riya Saboo was selected for the national team to participate in the championship which will be held in South Korea. She will be participating in two skating events, which are Freestyle and Pair Skating. In pair skating her partner is Jaswanth Bathina.
Daughter of a businessman, her father says that she started skating since 2010 and her inspiration was her mother Aarthi Saboo who could recognise a sportsperson in Riya. Presently she is ranked fifth in World Roller Skating Championship, fourth rank in Asian Roller Skating Championship and sixth rank in World Roller game 2017, he informed.
The proud father doesn’t shy away from gloating about his daughter success. He said Riya have won eight gold, five silver and one bronze medals at the national-level, 14 gold, seven silver and four bronze at the state-level and 45 gold and six silver at district-level events. He proudly said that she was the only person from Andhra Pradesh to win all these medals.
Talking about her training schedule, her father said that she is accompanied by her mother Aarthi to her training camp, championships and encourages her in all aspects.
Girish said that he was confident that Riya would definitely win a medal for the country at the championship in Korea, and make the country proud.
Education of Riya Saboo
At present, she is studying in Class X at PB Siddhartha Public School.
She is undergoing coaching under coach P Satyanarayan in Visakhapatnam. In Vijayawada, she is under the guidance of coach Dasari Durga Prasad and junior coach Roopa, he added.
