Ridhima Kapoor is an 8-year-old junior golfer and a State Sub Junior South Zone player. The 8-year-old started playing the sport at the beginning of 2022 and has already acquired numerous laurels at such a young age. Ridhima’s love for Golf sparked in a winter camp, and now she’s on her way toward her dream to clinch an Olympic medal for India.

The beginning
Ridhima Kapoor started playing Golf in January 2022 and has been participating in various competitions. After trying to take on different sports like Badminton, Go Karting, and Taekwondo, Ridhima finally found her passion for Golf during a winter camp she joined in December 2021. After the conclusion of the camp, she cleared the skill exam conducted on Putting and Chipping. Ridhima’s coach Mr. Raheem introduced her to Junior Golf and encouraged her to participate in the Indian Golf Union Sub-junior tour.

Ridhima comes from a humble background. Both of her parents are working in the service Industry. Ridhima is an only child. Golf is an expensive sport, and Ridhima’s parents are trying their best to support her in the best way possible.
Ridhima’s love and passion for Golf
Golf is not just a game for Ridhima, it’s her way of life. She loves putting the most in Golf; Putting a long footer on the green into the hole in one go is the most thrilling and enjoyable moment for her on the golf course. Since Ridhima found her passion in Golf after trying several other sports, she wants to continue playing Golf to win an Olympic medal for India.
Overcoming setbacks and path of prosperity
Ridhima follows the philosophy “Comeback is always stronger than the setback”. By being the last in her category with a score of 55 on Day 1 at CIAL Golf Course at Cochin in the 9-hole event, Ridhima came back with a best score of 44 on Day 2 which included 5 Par. She secured a second runner-up position in the E category division.

Ridhima is confident that sponsors will line up to support her passion for the game when she improves further. Moreover, with the Indian government’s Khelo India initiative, she is confident of getting support from the Sports Authority of India and other sports foundations in India.
Ridhima Kapoor Achievements
Ridhima was a winner in the regional round of Hyundai Inter school tournament in her category and won a Masterclass with Aditi Ashok.
