Renowned for his prowess in crucial football encounters, Habib consistently delivered standout performances when they mattered the most. His exceptional ability to secure victory became evident in three separate instances of Durand Cup finals within a span of just seven seasons, all while representing East Bengal.

What sets Habib apart is his achievement of claiming the Triple Crown – comprising the IFA Shield, Durand Cup, and Rovers Cup – during the same season. This remarkable feat was accomplished first with East Bengal in 1972 and then with Mohun Bagan in 1977, solidifying his status as one of the few players to achieve such a distinction.
