After he was reappointed as Indian cricket team’s head coach, Ravi Shastri is expected to get a significant hike on his remuneration. According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, the CTC of the head coach will see a massive 20% rise.-- Advertisement --
This will take his annual package approximately between ₹ 9.5 crores and ₹ 10 crores. In his previous contract, he was drawing somewhere around ₹ 8 crore. Moreover, the support staff will also be getting a significant hike.
Bharat Arun, who was earlier retained as the bowling coach, is predicted to receive about ₹ 3.5 crore. The fielding coach R Sridhar will receive a similar amount along with fellow fielding coach R Sridhar.
Vikram Rathour, the new batting coach who replaced Sanjay Bangar, will get between ₹2.5 crore to ₹3 crore. The proposed contracts will come into effect from September 1.-- Advertisement --
After the announcement of his reappointment, Shastri had outlined his ambitions as well as the his immediate goals with the national team.
“The reason why I came in here is the belief I had in this team, the belief that they could leave a legacy which very few teams have left behind which other teams going down will try and emulate,” he told BCCI after his appointment.-- Advertisement --
“Next two years is to see the smooth transition happening. You will get a lot of youngsters coming — in both white-ball setup and Tests. You need to identify another three-four bowlers to add to the pool by the end of our tenure. My endeavour by the end of this tenure would be to leave the team in a happier space so that they can set a legacy in the time to come,” Shastri further added.
“You’ve got to learn from your mistakes; nobody is perfect. When you strive for excellence and strive to raise the bar, then you have to pay attention to detail,” he said.-- Advertisement --
