PV Sindhu: The golden star

The Indian shuttler and two-time Olympic medallist, PV Sindhu yet again proved her world-class performing skills by defeating Aya Ohori of Japan in the opening round with scores of 17-21 21-17 21-17 in one hour ten minutes. Her determination to outwit her contender was even remarkable after her first win as she improvised her game to 11-0 against the Japanese shuttler.

The world No. 7 Sindhu competed against world No. 26 Germany’s Yvonne Li in the second round for the first time. The ever reigning champion, Sindhu defeated her with a clash of 21-12 21-18 in just 37 minutes at the USD 850,000 event. Her dominance was unshakable and so was she firm from the beginning of the match, which enabled her to clinch seven consecutive points at one stage.
