PKL 2018: Telugu Titans Beat Defending Champions Patna Pirates 41-36

With this third consecutive win against Pirates this season, Telugu Titans ended their home leg of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 in style.

On the other side, another star performer Pardeep Narwal didn’t have the greatest of the night as his performance was not up to the mark in the first half. Narwal recovered in the second half as he completed the Super 10 after successfully executing back to back raids. But that was not enough to ensure victory for Patna Pirates.

Nilesh Salunke gave a handful lead to the home team with his spectacular four-point raid as the Titans were leading 6-0 in the first few moments of the game.

And in the first 10 minutes of the game, Telugu Titans were leading by 5 points over Patna Pirates. Telugu Titans dominated the first half as they were leading by 11 points over Patna Pirates and the score reflected 26-15.

Their captain continued to make successful attempts before making an excellent raid in the 28th minute of the game to help his team inflict an all-out as the score reflected 32-24.

Pirates continued to crawl ahead and picked 3 points in quick succession, while Titans somehow managed to get a single point as the score read 33-27 with eight minutes left in the game.

The pendulum again swung the other way as the Telugu Titans’ raiders and defenders came with some sensational attempts to extend their side’s lead to 38-29 by the end of 36 minute in the match. Patna Pirates showed some fight in the last moments to move at 36 points; however, that wasn’t enough to stop Telugu Titans from securing a much needed 41-36 win.
