Match 1: UP Yoddha vs Tamil Thalaivas
The first match of the day in Pro-Kabaddi League season 6, UP Yoddha and Tamil Thalaivas played out a thrilling 25-25 draw in a tense battle of Pro Kabaddi League season 6 at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula on Saturday. Prashanth Kumar Rai’s impressive raid in the final minute led to draw for UP Yoddha. Rai scored maximum 12 raid points.
Ajay Thakur scored most 6 points for Thalaivas and Amit Hooda secured a high 5. Tamil Thalaivas started on a good note as Ajay and Athul MS grabbed up raid points and led 5-1 after 4 minutes. UP Yoddha responded through Rai as he scored 3 raid points in a couple of minutes to level the match at 5-5.
The next few minutes match was evenly poised as both teams traded raid and tackle points. After 15 minutes UP Yoddha were leading 10-9. A superb tackle in the 18th minute gave Thalaivas the edge as they went into the halftime leading 13-10.
In the second half, Tamil Thalaivas were leading 16-13 after 25 minutes but UP Yoddha cut down the gap to just 1point in the 28th minute. Nitesh Kumar was in solid defensive form as he sent back Thalaivas raiders to the bench consistently.
With just 5 minutes to go D Pradap made a two-point raid to give Thalaivas 21-19 lead. Rai’s two-point raid in the 37th minute decreased the gap to just 1 point. It was a close finish as Partap made a successful raid in the 39th minute and Rai also scored a point with the score 25-24 in Thalaivas’ favour. Rai again made a successful raid in the dying seconds to tie the match at 25-25.
Tamil Thalaivas were disappointed in the end as they had the opportunity to win the match.
Match 2: Jaipur Pink Panthers vs U Mumba
U Mumba and Jaipur Pink Panthers played out a breathtaking 35-35 tie in an exciting contest of Pro Kabaddi League Season 6. Siddharth Desai became the swiftest player to reach 200 points in this season and he top scored with 14 points. Rohit Rana had an excellent game in defence as he picked up a high five. Deepak Hooda’s heroics in a final couple of minutes helped Jaipur tie the match in the end. Deepak scored total 11 points.
Siddharth Desai scored a couple of raid points in 4 minutes as U Mumba led 4-2. Deepak Hooda brought Jaipur back in the game with successful raids as they trailed 4-5. U Mumba scored 6 straight points to lead 11-5 but a superb tackle in the 9th minute helped Jaipur prevent an all-out.
Amit Kumar’s super raid in the 10th minute helped Jaipur to reduce gap to 10-11. Siddharth gave U Mumba lead again as at the end of the first half they were leading 14-12.-- Advertisement --
The second half began with Jaipur inflicting an all-out as they strengthened their hold on the match to lead 17-14. Siddharth’s two-point raid in the next minute reduced the gap to only one point.
It appeared like Jaipur will secure a comfortable win as with less than 5 minutes to go they had a five-point lead. But U Mumba fought back as they inflicted an all-out in the 38th minute to lead 33-32. Deepak Hooda made a raid point in the 40th minute as Jaipur tied the match at 34-34. One more raid each by Desai and Hooda tied the match at 35-35.
Dabang Delhi benefitted from this tie as they are sure now that they will qualify for playoffs.
U Mumba and Gujarat Fortune Giants have already secured their place in the playoffs in Zone A.
