Pro Kabaddi (PKL 6) Highlights: Puneri Paltan Finishes Their Campaign with Win Over Telugu Titans

Puneri Paltan finished their final match in PKL 2018 with a comprehensive 35-20 win over Telugu Titans at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on Friday. 7 of the players from Puneri Paltan managed to get points as the team signed off their Season 6 campaign on a high. Puneri Paltan was led by a 10-point performance from their star player – More G B.

Puneri Paltan finished their PKL season 6 with 58 points from 12 wins. The disappointing defeat implies the exit of Telugu Titans for the playoffs.

Bengal Warriors started their home leg with a close win

Bengal Warriors began their home leg with a win as they beat Tamil Thalaivas 27-24. Jang Kun Lee was the star of the show for Bengal Warriors as he scored a maximum 12 points. Ran Singh marshalled the defence for the Bengal by scoring four tackle points. Sukesh Hegde scored maximum 9 points for the Tamil Thalaivas and was well supported by Ajay Thakur with 5 points.

Maninder Singh gave Bengal Warriors a good start with a couple of raid points in the first minute. For Tamil Thalaivas, Sukesh Hegde produced a super raid in the third minute of the game as they led 6-4. Jang Kun Lee also produced a super raid as Bengal Warriors levelled the match at 7-7. It was an even battle in the first half with both teams’ raiders scoring points. For the defenders, it was a low scoring match as only five tackle points were scored.

Jang Kun Lee got seven raid points in the first half for the Bengal Warriors while Sukesh Hegde scored the same for the Tamil Thalaivas. Bengal Warriors finished the first half with a super tackle as the score was 15-15 at the half-time.

Bengal Warriors displayed strong defence at the beginning of the second half and enforced a super tackle to avert an all-out in the 23rd minute. With just five minutes to go, Bengal Warriors held a slender couple of points lead with the score 23-21 in their favour. Bengal Warriors maintained their nerves and composure in the last few minutes and won the match 27-24. With this win, Bengal Warriors remain in contention for a place in the playoffs while Tamil Thalaivas were knocked out earlier.
