Chaudhary added a point to his tally with a tackle on Patil to end the night by making Gujarat Fortunegiants the only PKL team to cross the 90-point mark in the standings.
The loss left the defending champions Patna Pirates on the verge of elimination, giving a lifeline to UP Yoddha. UP Yoddha will now be facing Bengal Warriors on Thursday which will decide the third team for a playoff from Zone B. If UP Yoddha wins the fixture, they will enter the playoffs and Patna Pirates will have to go home.
Defence of Gujarat Fortune Giants proved to be the difference between two teams as they prevailed over the star-studded attacking lineup of Patna Pirates featuring the season six’s leading raider Pardeep Narwal.
In the second match of the day, Bengal Warriors defeated Bengaluru Bulls 37-31 to secure their third consecutive victory. With this victory, Bengal Warriors have an opportunity to finish as a Zone B leader if they defeat UP Yoddha in Thursday’s match.
