The PUBG Mobile Club Open (PMCO 2019), South Asia region, saw a fantastic end last Sunday. And what a 5-day journey it has been for the top 24 teams at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall, Delhi! It all started with a 2-days Playins which acted as a filter for 16 units out of the 24. And then the tournament concluded after a three-day finale.
Playins
The 2 days Playins were distributed as group matches. There were a total of 3 groups with 8 teams each. The Playins saw exceptional performances from the teams, especially ETG Brawlers. The team won 3 back to back chicken dinners in the first three games of day 1 and went into a huge lead w.r.t other teams.
But all that mattered was the position table at the end of day 2 which held the ticket for 16 teams to play the finals. And the points table looked somewhat like this:
Position | Team | Total points |
1 | ETG BRAWLERS | 149 |
2 | IND | 121 |
3 | GODLIKE | 93 |
4 | FNATIC | 84 |
5 | NEPALI HO NI | 76 |
6 | ZERO DEGREE | 75 |
7 | MAYHEM | 73 |
8 | INS | 73 |
9 | ENTITY GAMING | 72 |
10 | MEGASTARS | 71 |
11 | TRUSTDPROCESS | 71 |
12 | SYNERGE | 70 |
13 | ORB OFFICIAL | 68 |
14 | ELEMENTRIX | 67 |
15 | SOUL | 65 |
16 | RIP OFFICIAL | 63 |
What came as a shock was the failure of Orange Rock to qualify for the finals. Orange Rock has been one of the most dominant teams in the custom scrims and even in the previous PMCO (it stood 3rd in India). Definitely, the result of the Playins were a genuine surprise to many. Even the fan favourite team Soul and it’s IGL filter Mortal, the most adored player in India, barely managed to qualify for the finals.

The finals
The finals began the very next day of the Playins. And to be honest, the points table until the end of the last game on day 3 of the finals wasn’t predictable. This itself indicates the amount of competition which teams gave to each other.
The atmosphere in the stadium was electrifying, and the crowd were given entertainment and thrill by the teams for their every penny. And one more reason to celebrate was all the 5 teams which qualified for the prelims and finals in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia were Indian teams. The top 2 teams will directly play in the finals whereas the last 3 teams will have to play the prelims. Both prelims and finals will be played in Kuala Lumpur.
