PKL 2024: Puneri Paltan staged an impressive comeback, erasing a 13-point deficit to secure a 40-38 victory against UP Yoddhas, ultimately claiming the top position on the Pro Kabaddi League points table this Wednesday. The standout performer for the Yoddhas was raider Gagana Gowda, who amassed 16 raid points, while Pankaj Mohite emerged as the highest scorer for the Paltan, securing 12 raid points. The Yoddhas dominated the initial 20 minutes, particularly with Gowda’s remarkable ‘Super Raid’ that outplayed Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh, Abinesh Nadarajan, and Vahid Reza Eimehr. This propelled the Yoddhas to a 5-1 lead in the third minute, and their advantage continued to grow. Gulveer Singh contributed a crucial two-point raid, resulting in the Yoddhas enforcing an ‘All Out’ in the eighth minute and taking a 12-7 lead. During the first 13 minutes, the Paltan struggled to gain momentum, securing only two tackle points, while the opposition extended their lead to 18-10.

Gowda once again demonstrated his skill in the 15th minute with an impressive five-point ‘Super Raid,’ dismantling the Paltan defense and propelling the Yoddhas to a 24-13 advantage. The team from Uttar Pradesh took control of the game in the first half, finishing with a substantial 13-point lead at 28-15. The Paltan sought reinforcement from their bench, introducing Aslam Inamdar and Sanket Sawant, while Mohite unleashed a formidable performance in the early stages of the second half.

The Bengaluru Bulls secured a significant victory against the Haryana Steelers, triumphing with a score of 53-39. Sushil emerged as the standout performer for the Bulls, contributing an impressive 22 points, while Akshit Dhull added 8 points to the team’s total. This win propelled the Bengaluru Bulls to the eighth position with a total of 53 points. On the other hand, the Haryana Steelers, with 70 points, secured the fifth spot, earning them a spot in the playoffs. The Steelers are set to face the Gujarat Giants in their playoff clash on February 26th.
