PBKS vs DC: The IPL 2025 match played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Thursday, between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), experienced a sudden stoppage in play because of unforeseen technical difficulties. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that they would not be resuming the match and subsequently evacuated the stadium. This followed a power outage that rendered the floodlight towers inoperable. BCCI vice-president <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rajeev_Shukla">Rajeev Shukla</a> went to the media to discuss their quick action taken to ensure players were safe.
In a report by the Times of India, Rajeev Shukla announced that the logistics for a mass evacuation of players and staff were underway, stating, “We are making special arrangements for the evacuation of players and staff from the affected venue. We are organising a special train from Una, a town near hospitable Dharamsala, to bring everybody back home safely. Officials called off the match and evacuated the stadium. Tomorrow we will take a call on the tournament&#8217;s future based on the situation.”

Rain interrupted the match between PBKS and DC before it started. When the game got back underway, PBKS made a fiery start to the proceedings after they elected to bat first. Openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh put together a blistering 122-run opening stand in just 10.1 overs, launching into the DC&#8217;s bowling attack. Arya was at his brilliant best, scoring a sensational 70 off 34 balls with five boundaries and six sixes at a strike rate of over 205.
<a href="https://www.kreedon.com/ipl-2025-prabhsimran-and-shreyas-fifties-power-pbks-to-4-wicket-victory-over-csk">Prabhsimran Singh</a> was a very aggressive 50 not out off 28 deliveries with seven boundaries. However, when captain Shreyas Iyer went to bat after DC pacer <a href="https://www.kreedon.com/t-natarajan-biography">T Natarajan</a> dismissed Arya, lightning caused a power failure that stopped the game, ultimately ending it.
With the fate of IPL 2025 now in question, all eyes will be on the BCCI’s next move. The IPL governing council is meeting to discuss whether the tournament can continue as planned.
