Pardeep Narwal entered history books in the game 30 against Haryana Steelers of the Pro Kabaddi 2019 after scoring 900 raid points in the league. He is first and the only player to achieve the feat. This feat came in his 91st match in front of the home fans at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna.
Prior to the game, Pardeep’s all-time tally stood at 891 raid points. However, he went on to score a stunning Super 10 with 14 raid points to cross 900. Three of those came from bonus points while the others from raid points in some 22 raids that he attempted. That also marked Pardeep’s 46th Super 10 of the career. It is astonishing that the talented raider is just 22-year-old.
His feat in the competition seems very unlikely to be broken any time soon. His nearest competitors include Rahul Chaudhari (864 points), Ajay Thakur (752 points), & Deepak Niwas Hooda (751 points).
However, his team, Patna Pirates didn’t have as great evening as him, with Haryana Steelers getting the better of them by 35-26. That also marked his team’s 3rd loss at home. Despite those losses, Pardeep Narwal’s numbers have been quite impressive. He has 47 raid points to his name at an average of 7.83 raid points this year. However, that is not the best in the season, considering Pawan Sehrawat (57 points) and Naveen Goyat (53 points) have a better raid tally than him.
Popularly known as the ‘Dupki King’ or simply, the ‘Record Breaker’, Pardeep Narwal has grown his game over the past few seasons. He still holds the best numbers in a single edition of PKL 369 raid points, achieved in the Season 5. The raider also holds the record for the most raid points in a single match (34). That game also included an outstanding 8-pointer raid, another record that others have yet to eclipse.
At the back of his exploits, his team, the Patna Pirates, have gone on to become the most successful sides in PKL, winning the title on 3 occasions.
