During an Indian Premier League match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants, Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq engaged in a heated exchange of words. Subsequently, Kohli’s supporters directed their ire towards the Afghan pacer on social media and in the stadium. However, a significant transformation took place during India’s ODI World Cup 2023 game against Afghanistan in Kohli’s hometown of Delhi.

In a heartening turn of events, the crowd began chanting ‘Kohli’ as Naveen entered the field to bat or bowl. During the second innings, with Virat Kohli at the crease, he encouraged the spectators not to taunt Naveen. This led to a positive reconciliation, with both players ultimately shaking hands. Post-match, there was evidence of a friendly exchange between the two players.

India faced the formidable Australian team in Chennai in their first match of ODI WC 2023. The Australian batsmen struggled in challenging batting conditions and were all out for a total of 199 runs. In response, India found themselves in a precarious position at 2/3, with three of their top four batsmen dismissed.

Nevertheless, Virat Kohli, the former Indian captain, exhibited great resilience as he battled against the formidable pace attack of Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, and their skipper Pat Cummins. He managed to forge a remarkable partnership of 165 runs with KL Rahul. Kohli’s remarkable innings came to an end when he was dismissed after scoring 85 runs. At that point, India needed only 33 runs to secure victory, which they achieved with six wickets in hand.
