In the 26th match of the 2023 World Cup, South Africa and Pakistan faced off in a thrilling contest. Pakistan, after winning the toss, opted to bat first. South Africa, a team that has showcased its prowess in this tournament, effectively restricted Pakistan to a total of 270 runs within 46 overs. The leading run-scorers for Pakistan were Saud Shakeel and Babar Azam, contributing 52 and 50 runs, respectively. Notably, Tabraiz Shamsi of South Africa shone as the highest wicket-taker in the match, securing four wickets while conceding 60 runs.

Despite the pressure and the loss of nine wickets, South Africa managed to reach the target in 47.2 overs. Aiden Markram played a pivotal role for South Africa, accumulating 91 runs off 93 deliveries. Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi made his presence felt by taking three wickets in the match.
