NZ vs IND 1st T20I Dream11 Prediction

Match Date: 24th January 2020, Friday
Match Timing: 7.50 am (12.20 pm IST)
Match Venue: Eden Park stadium, Auckland
Expected Crowd Turnout:   30,000

New Zealand welcomes Team India for the first of the 5-match T20I series at the Eden Park stadium in Aukland on Friday. This will be the duo’s first game after the 2019 World Cup semi-final in England.

New Zealand will look to forget their 3-0 sweep against Australia and begin 2020 with a win. However, multiple injuries to star players might make their job India a difficult task.

India, on the other hand, will look to continue their good run after beating Sri Lanka (T20I) and Australia (ODI) in the recently concluded series. The last time the Men in Blue visited New Zealand, they swept the Kiwi’s in the ODI series, before losing 2-1 in the three-match T20 series.

In fact, NZ have had the upper hand over India in the T20Is, winning eight matches as against India’s three. Will the in-form Virat Kohli & Co. break the odds and bring home the series this time around? Or will a depleted Black Caps continue their domination over India in T20I?

Here is complete NZ vs IND 1st T20I Dream11 Prediction:

IND- Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja

Weather Conditions Partly Cloudy.

25°C, 73% Humidity, Winds up to 24 km/hr. 10% Precipitation.

Toss Advantage Going by the statistics, sides batting first have a relative toss advantage. The Eden Park Stadium has hosted 19 T20I matches. Teams batting first have won 10 games; Teams batting second have won 6 matches and 3 ties. Both Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson will like to bat first.
Pitch Report The Eden Park pitch is a drop-in pitch, meaning the pitch is literally “dropped in” for a cricket match. The surface is generally slowish, meaning teams batting first will hold the advantage. Stats support the same. Only 6 (of 19) chasing teams have had successful run chases.

Fantasy Cricket League Prediction | Tips and Tricks for today’s match between NZ vs IND 1st T20I Dream11 Prediction

Wicket-Keepers

Despite the return of Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul is a safer wicket-keeping-batting choice for the Indian team as he is more reliable in scoring runs. Moreover, he has been in some terrific form of late. His numbers in the last nine outings across all formats are as follows (recent last): 91, 6, 102, 77, 45, 54, 47,80,19. With Dhawan absent, KL will return to the opening slot where he is known for his explosiveness

Batsmen

New Zealand batsmen Martin Guptill and Ross Taylor showed some good batting form in the T20 series against England in November. Guptill scored 153 runs in 5 T20Is, at an average of 30.60 and strike rate of 177.90. Taylor was crucial in the middle-order with 116 runs in 5 games, averaging at 23.20 and striking the ball at 120.83.

Kane Williamson has scored 505 in 55 T20I innings, averaging 31.4. He has a decent strike rate at 121.8. He missed the T20 series against England and will want to return with a good performance against India.

Virat Kohli is a must-have in the team considering his form. Kohli was the man of the ODI series against Australia. He scored 2,633 T20I runs in 2019, and 56 runs in 2 T20Is vs Sri Lanka. Moreover, the skipper has scored 197 runs in T20I (at an average of 49.25) against NZ, the second-highest amongst the active Indian players.

The distinction lies with Rohit Sharma, who is another must-have. Just like his captain, Sharma scored 2,633 T20I runs last year. In his last 6 T20I’s, Sharma has scored 190 runs at an average of 31.6

Manish Pandey has 618 runs in 33 T20Is; 55 in last 3 T20Is with a strike rate of 152.7 Pandey has been playing a decent role towards the end of the innings for India since the Sri Lanka tour.

All-rounders

New Zealand middle-order player Mitchell Santer was named as the player of the T20 series against England. He picked 11 wickets in 5 matches at a brilliant average of 12.81, making him a must-have. His bowling will be important in a slow pitch at Eden Park. Not to forget, Santer is handy with the bat as well.

Colin de Grandhomme will also be crucial in the NZ middle order. In the series against England, he scored 115 runs in 3 matches (avg: 22.00; strike rate: 146.66).

Ravindra Jadeja is a smart choice considering his contributions with either runs, wickets, catches or run-outs. In the first two ODIs against Australia, Jadeja scored 25 and 20 coming in the lower end of the innings apart from picking up 4 wickets.

Bowlers

The Indian bowling side put up a decent performance in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia after a dismissive performance in the first ODI. Jasprit Bumrah was very economical despite picking just 1 wicket in the series. In his last T20I game against West Indies, finished with 1/5 with an outstanding economy rate of 2.50.

Mohammed Shami has been in form as well, having picked up four wickets in his last game against Australia. The pacer has scalped 11 wickets from 8 T20I matches he has played for India. In his last T20I match against WI, he picked 2 important wickets.

Kuldeep Yadav is in brilliant T20 form, having picked 6 wickets in his last 3 T20s. With 39 wickets in just 21 games, it seems Yadav has moved past Chahal in Kohli’s pecking spin order.

Navdeep Saini consistently hit 145+ speeds even as he finished with 5 wickets in 2 matches in the T20 series against Sri Lanka.

The absence of Lockie Ferguson and Trent Boult, all the pressure to deliver wickets will fall on Tim Southee. Although he hasn’t had a great outing against England (4 wickets from 5 games), the Kiwi pacer remains the most lethal bowler from the hosts’ camp. Ish Sodhi is also a good choice here, considering he has picked 11 wickets against India in T20Is, the most by any player.

Captain & Vice-Captain Choices

Virat Kohli; Rohit Sharma; Ravindra Jadeja, Ross Taylor

Virat Kohli is a great captain choice considering the form he is in. Averaging almost 50 in every T20I match, his role will be crucial in run chases. Rohit Sharma’s explosiveness and six-hitting ability make him a good choice as a captain.

Jadeja and Taylor are good choices for VC. Jadeja has been in good form, having contributed with wickets and reasonable economical rate. Taylor has been consistent in scoring runs and is a safe VC choice. Moreover, both Jadeja and Taylor are excellent fielders when it comes to taking catches and run-outs.
