The Saudi Pro League team, Al Hilal, officially announced the acquisition of Brazilian football sensation Neymar Jr on August 15th. Neymar, originally signed by Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for an unprecedented 222 million euros, bids farewell to the Ligue 1 club after a successful six-year tenure.
Notably, Neymar’s move to Al Hilal comes with a highly lucrative package of $300 million on a two-year deal. With additional incentives and supplementary terms considered, the 31-year-old’s potential earnings could even reach a remarkable $400 million by 2025.
The ex-Barcelona striker’s connections to his former team were strong. However, due to the financial difficulties faced by the La Liga club, they were unable to match the appealing deal presented by Al Hilal. Neymar is now the most recent top-tier player to enter the Saudi Pro League, setting the stage for a face-off with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi championship.

Despite these remarkable statistics, Neymar’s time in France was marred by consistent injury setbacks rather than showcasing the pinnacle of his career.
