Olympics Gold Medalist Neeraj Chopra expressed anguish regarding the Indian wrestlers’ protest at the Jantar Mantar. The javelin ace took to Twitter to share an image with a caption voicing his dissatisfaction with the current situation.
Neeraj Chopra wrote,
“It hurts me to see our athletes on the streets demanding justice. They have worked hard to represent our great nation and make us proud. As a nation, we are responsible for safeguarding the integrity and dignity of every individual, athlete or not.”
He further wrote,
“What’s happening should never happen. This is a sensitive issue and must be dealt with in an impartial and transparent manner. Pertaining authorities must take quick action in order to ensure that justice is served.”

The Indian wrestlers at the Jantar Mantar are demanding action against WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is accused of sexual harassment against multiple women wrestlers.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) is yet to finish its investigation into the allegations against the WFI chief. Meanwhile, the government-formed oversight panel’s discoveries are not public as yet. The wrestlers after being disheartened by the three-month-long wait, returned to Jantar Mantar to resume their agitation on April 23.
