At the Campal Swimming Pool on Wednesday, Dhinidhi Desinghu, the remarkable 14-year-old swimming prodigy from Karnataka, clinched her fourth gold medal at the 37th National Games. She played a pivotal role in propelling her team to victory in the 4x200m Freestyle Relay.
Meanwhile, Sajan Praskash secured his second gold medal by setting a new games record in the 200m Butterfly event, clocking an impressive time of 1 minute and 59.38 seconds.
S.P. Likith from the Service team secured the gold medal in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke, clocking an impressive time of 28.71 seconds. He outperformed S. Danush from Tamil Nadu (29.03 seconds) and Vidith S. Shankar from Karnataka (29.07 seconds) who took the second and third positions, respectively.
In the Women’s 50m Breaststroke, Chahat Arora from Punjab successfully defended her title with a time of 34.09 seconds, narrowly edging out A.K. Linyesha from Karnataka (34.11 seconds). Harshitha Jayaram from Kerala secured the bronze medal.
Both the Karnataka men’s and women’s 4x200m Freestyle relay teams clinched the gold medals while setting new games records. In the 200m Butterfly event, Astha Choudhury from Assam claimed the gold with a time of 2 minutes and 19.29 seconds, followed by Hashika Ramachandra from Karnataka (2:22.20 seconds) and Vritti Agarwal from Telangana (2:22.28 seconds) who secured the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
