Most Stumpings in IPL History | Cricket is a sport which entails disposition of players in various roles, especially in the fielding side. We have the fielders at different positions, such as the slips, the silly point, long on, long off etc. However, it is the wicket keepers who play a very substantial role during the course of the game. And often, their contribution and their role are undermined. Keeping the wickets, contributing with the bat, keeping an eye on where the batsmen might want to hit the ball or the strategies that they may be devising, the wicketkeepers, quite rightfully, have their hands full most of the time. Compared to the rest of the fielders, the wicketkeepers must always be attentive because the opportunity to get the opposition out may present itself at any time. And they also have to be fast; really fast. Not to mention their field work should also be par or above excellence, cause often they will have to throw the ball to run out the batsmen.
IPL (Indian Premier League) has witnessed some of the best and most flamboyant wicket keepers of the game. Players like Adam Gilchrist, Mark Boucher, Kumar Sangakkara and the head of the table of course, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, have all left their mark in the game. From astonishing dismissals, superb catches to stumpings which are beyond belief, they have managed to do it all. So let us go through the list of the top ten wicket keepers with the most number of stumpings in the Indian Premier League:
