Siraj began playing cricket in class 7. He bowled his first ball in 2015. After two years, he was picked up by Sunrisers Hyderabad in a contract worth of INR 2.6 crore. After steady and consistent performances in IPL earned him a spot on the Indian National Team. He made his debut against New Zealand.

A sturdy and athletic Siraj has a discreet run-up, which initially suggests that he is left-handed but he is not. He is, however, a right-arm which allows him naturally to swing the ball away from the right-hander which allows him to take wickets if a slip is set in from early on. Mohammed Siraj Ranji Trophy – Domestic Cricket
Siraj made name for himself when he took 41 wickets in just 9 matches in Hyderabad’s quarterfinals run in the Ranji trophy in the 2016-17 season. It was his only second season in domestic cricket. He later went on to play for the Rest of India and India A team on the bank of his impressive performances. The step up to the big league was near and he later got the opportunity to represent India at an international level when he was selected on the tour of South Africa.

Mohd Siraj ODI & Test Debut
His ODI debut also saw him bowling an expensive spell as he conceded 76 runs against the mercurial Australians. He was part of the Test Squad which head out to the West Indies but had to wait 2 years to make his debut. He marked his debut with 13 wickets in three matches, therefore, playing a pivotal role in clinching the series against Australia in December 2020.

The right-arm pacer made headlines during the 2017 IPL auctions when Sunrisers Hyderabad picked him up for INR 2.6 crore from a base price of 20 lakh. He only played six matches in his first season in IPL, but he impressed many by picking up 10 wickets but he was leaking way too many runs which saw Sunrisers Hyderabad make a strong stance and he was let go the next season.

In 2018, Royal Challengers Bangalore were looking to reshuffle their pack and added the highly-rated Mohammed Siraj to their Roster. It was not a surprise that they defeated 4 other franchises to land Siraj at Bangalore for INR 2.6 crore. He was not given the jersey in the first few matches but once picked he became Kohli’s go-to guy bowler and ended the season with 11 wickets to his name. RCB retained for the following edition and he has been a mainstay for them since.
