Leaving behind the issues happened in Indian Women’s Cricket in the last few months, ODI captain Mithali Raj and new coach WV Raman eye to make a fresh start from the upcoming tour of New Zealand.

New coach WV Raman also stressed that he will begin his stint on a clean slate, despite whatever happened in the recent past.
Mithali added that the coach and players have to be on the same page regarding what is essential for the benefit of the team.
Mithali emphasized that she doesn’t have any problem playing under T20 skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.
The ODI skipper Mithali concluded, “And I am sure. I have not trained under him (WV Raman) but met him a couple of times and if you have seen his credentials, He has played (at the highest level) and coached various teams at various levels. So he comes with huge experience and there are no expectations as such when you have credentials like that, you are only positive that the coach will make big difference to the team’s performance, getting into the year and to the series.”
WV Raman is the newly appointed coach of the women’s national team after the completion of Powar’s tenure following the Women’s World T20.
Ramesh Powar received massive criticism for dropping veteran and in form Mithali Raj from the final 11 in the T20 World Cup semi-final match against England in which Women’s team suffered an 8-wicket defeat. Following that, Mithali accused the previous coach Ramesh Powar of bias and Committee of Administrators (CoA) member Diana Edulji of trying to finish her career.
India Women’s Cricket team will play three T20Is and three ODIs in New Zealand from January 24. Under the able guidance of new coach WV Raman, Indian Women’s team would aim to make a difference in the New Zealand tour.
With 3 ODI matches in New Zealand Mithali will complete her 200 ODIs.
