Olympic silver medalist Mirabai Chanu will lead the five-member Indian team at the World Weightlifting Championships 2022 to be held in Bogota, Colombia next month. Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Jeremy Lalrinnunga is still to recover from injuries.

Lalrinnunga, who suffered a lower back and thigh injury during his gold-winning performance in men’s 67kg at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in August, has not yet recovered fully and will miss this event. The national selectors have picked four Indian weightlifters for the event and will add one more name to the list.

Chief national weightlifting coach Vijay Sharma told IANS on Thursday,
